Organic Red Rice

This long grain Red Rice retains its entire bran layer where all of the grain’s nutrients are stored. It cooks in only 30 minutes, producing a slightly nutty flavor and a toothsome yet tender grain.Our Organic Red Rice is grown on family farms in Southeast Asia (Thailand). Even better, it’s grown using SRI farming practices (what we call More Crop Per Drop™) so farmers can harvest more rice using less water and pesticides while reducing methane off-gassing and physical labor for women. Cooking Instructions: Combine 1 ¾ cups of water, 1 cup rice and a pinch of salt. Bring to a boil over high heat. Cover, reduce heat and simmer for 30 minutes. Remove from heat. Let stand covered for a few minutes. Fluff and serve. A rice cooker may be used with the same water-to-rice ratio.
